Day 1:            Overnight flight to Lourdes (Pau or Toulouse airport)

Day 2-4:        Lourdes

Day 5:            Paris — Lisieux (St. Therese, The Little Flower)

Day 6:            Lisieux — Landing Beaches & American Cemetery

Days 7-8:      Lisieux — Paris

Day 9:            Paray-le-Monial — Lyon

Day 10           La Salette

Day 12:          Return home from Lyon airport

Full Itinerary

Day 1   •  Departure

Departure from Boston Logan airport. Meet with your pastoral assistant in Boston or upon your arrival in France.

Day 2   •  Arrive Lourdes

Arrival at Pau or Toulouse airport and collect your luggage. Meet with our local driver and embark on a scenic drive to Lourdes. Check-in to the hotel and relax or explore before dinner. Following dinner, you will have free time to pray the Rosary and to attend the candlelight procession. These processions are lit by candlelight and guided by the Most Holy Rosary. At the end, return to your hotel for overnight.

Days 3 & 4  •  Lourdes

During your time in Lourdes you will have the opportunity to attend Mass at the Grotto where Our Lady appeared to Bernadette; drink water from the miraculous spring that has healed many; and submerge yourself in the healing baths. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate to the Stations of the Cross that overlook the Grotto of Massabielle. While in Lourdes, you will walk in and meditate upon the footsteps of St. Bernadette as you visit her birthplace. Each evening following dinner, you will have an opportunity to attend the candlelight procession and the Rosary before a restful overnight.

Day 5  •  Paris – Lisieux (St. Therese, The Little Flower)

After breakfast, departure from Pau or Lourdes airport for your short flight to Paris. Upon arrival in Paris, visit and attend Mass at the magnificent, Sacre Coeur Basilica that stands atop Montmartre Hill. In addition to the extraordinary artwork and architecture that forms the Basilica, you will see the beautiful mosaic of the Risen Christ and the Grand Organ. Lunch on your own and depart for Lisieux to visit the Basilica of St. Therese. Time for personal meditations and prayers. Dinner an overnight at your hotel in Lisieux.

Day 6  •  Lisieux–Landing Beaches & American Cemetery

After breakfast, time to reflect upon the life of Saint Therese as well as celebrate Mass. After Mass and a visit to the Basilica, you will have the opportunity to visit her family home, Les Buissonets. Additionally, you will tour the Carmelite Convent where she entered in 1888 and is currently entombed with her parents. This afternoon you will be transferred to Normandy Landing beaches. The Normandy landings were the landing operations on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 (termed D-Day) of the Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II. Many American soldiers of World War II are buried here. Return to Lisieux for dinner and overnight.

Day 7  •  Paris

After breakfast, transfer to Paris. You will visit and celebrate Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, where you will view the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Laboure. After Mass, walk to Saint Vincent de Paul Church. Our day continues with a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral and the Chapel of the Kings (known as Palais de Justice, Ste. Chapelle, it was built under order of St. Louis of France, with relic of the Passion of Christ). At the end, panoramic sightseeing tour via motor coach passing by the Eiffel Tower, Arch de Triomphe, the Champ-Elysees, Louvre Museum, etc. Dinner and overnight in Paris.

Day 8  •  Paris

Today you will visit the Carmelite monastery on Rue Vaugirard of Brother Lawrence. We will see the Catholic University where St. Ignatius, St. Francis Xavier and others attended  College Ste. Barbe (St. Barbara), and the Benedictine Abbey in the Latin Quarter of Paris. In the afternoon, after lunch on your own, visit the Orsay Museum. Overnight in Paris.

Day 9  •  Paray-le-Monial — Lyon

After breakfast, you will continue traveling on to Paray-le-Monial, the place where St. Margaret Mary Alacoque experienced visions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the 17th century. After celebrating Mass in the Shrine of Paray-le-Monial, we will have a guided visit featuring the Chapel of the Apparitions, the room of the relics of St Margaret Mary, the Diorama of St Margaret, and the Eucharist Museum. Other highlights include the Basilica of Sacre Coeur and the Chapel of St. Claude in honor of St. Margaret Mary's Spiritual Director. After the visit, free time for lunch on your own. Departing Paray-Le-Monial, we continue our travels to Lyon. Dinner and overnight there.

Day 10  •  La Salette

After breakfast we depart for La Salette located in a high alpine pasture in the French Alps, La Salette is the site where the Virgin Mary appeared in 1846 to two shepherds, Melanie Matthew and Maximin Gird. A spring forever marks the spot where the Virgin appeared and where millions of pilgrims come to in order to drink the fresh spring water and to pray. The stunning mountain scenery and lush mountain trails make La Salette one of the most spectacular pilgrimage sites in France, with a beautiful Basilica built to honor the Virgin Mary. Lunch and dinner and overnight at La Salette

Day 11  •  Lyon

After breakfast, departure to Lyon. This morning we will enjoy a tour of Lyon, including a visit to the Basilique Notre-Dame of Fourviere. Free time in the afternoon. Farewell dinner and overnight in Lyon.

Day 12  •  Return Home

This morning, you will begin with breakfast and continue with a transfer to the Lyon airport for your return flight(s) home.

*Price will be confirmed 11 months before the departure date. Depending on the final price of the flight (which is only available 11 months before departure), this quotation may be subject to change (a maximum increase of $200/300).

  • First deposit (non-refundable), $400: by October 15, 2018.
  • A monthly deposit payment of $400 is due the 15th of every month

Refund policy for this pilgrimage

In case of trip cancellation by you, the following fees apply:

  • First deposit and second deposit are non-refundable
  • Remaining deposits are 50% refundable until July 2, 2019
  • No refunds after July 2, 2019
