This journey of the holiest places focuses on faith, inviting each pilgrim to a deeper experience of prayer in the land where God chose to unfold his plan of Salvation for all the world, and where the Church was born.

Integral to this journey are the Word of God, the Sacraments, and the gifts of Divine Grace. The itinerary will invite each of you to open your mind and heart to God as you are led and challenged by your spiritual guide and pastoral assistant to interior places where the Spirit dwells.

Itinerary

 

Day 1  •  Nazareth

Arrival at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport. Travel to Galilee, the most beautiful and fertile region of the Holy Land. Arrival at Nazareth in the evening, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2   •  Nazareth

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit the Church of the Transfiguration at Mt. Tabor, stop at Cana, site of the wedding feast. In the afternoon, visit to the Shrine of the Annunciation and the New Church, the Church of St. Joseph, built where the Holy Family lived, and the Synagogue. Dinner and overnight in Nazareth.

Day 3   •  Nazareth

After breakfast, departure to the region of Lake Tiberias: we will take a beautiful boat ride, during which we will stop and connect with the Gospel reading about Jesus walking on the waters. Visit Capernaum (synagogue and Peter’s home) and Tabga (site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes), ascent to the Mt. of Beatitudes (where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount). Dinner and overnight in Nazareth.

Day 4   •  Bethlehem

Breakfast at the hotel. Continue to Samaria and visit the tomb of John the Baptist in Sabastya. Visit the Village of Askar (Sychar) and stop at the well of Jacobs. Arrival in Qasr El Yahud and renewal of the Baptismal Promises. Travel on to Jericho. Here we visit the sycamore tree, and the place of the temptation. That night we arrive in Bethlehem. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5   •  Bethlehem

After breakfast, departure to Jerusalem, the “City of God.” Visit Mount Zion: the room and the Church of the Last Supper, the Church of the Dormition, the Church of St. Peter Gallicantu, remembering the place where St. Peter denied Jesus. Stop at the Western Wall. Dinner and overnight in Bethehem.

Day 6   •  Bethlehem

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day dedicated to the visit of the city sacred to the three monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The visit includes Mount of Olives, the Garden of the Gethsemane, the Basilica of the Agony, the Chapel of the Pater Noster, the chapel where Jesus wept (Dominus Flevit), the Virgin’s Tomb. Visit to St. Anne’s Church, the Pool of Bethesda, the Chapel of the Flagellation and Via Crucis along the Via Dolorosa, entry to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, containing the tomb where Jesus was buried and rose from the dead. Dinner and overnight in Bethehem.

Day 7    •  Bethlehem

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit the Church of the Nativity, the Shepherd’s Field and the Grotto of St. Jerome. In the afternoon transfer to Cisjordan in Hebron to visit the tombs of the Patriarchs. Dinner and overnight in Bethehem.

Day 8   •  Bethlehem

After breakfast free morning in Jerusalem. Early afternoon, travel to Emmaus to remember the centrality of the Eucharist and the calling to the mission. Dinner and travel to the airport for the late flight back home.
