You could also take this opportunity to practice meditation and yoga – which help to achieve an emotionally stable and calm state of mind.In Buddhist traditions, mandalas are an object of meditation to aid in one’s spiritual development. The imagery depicts the universe and the symbols represent one’s spiritual journey, the cycles of birth-life-death, and the way all living things are inter-connected. The pictures within the mandalas illustrate the obstacles that one has to overcome in order to cultivate compassion and wisdom and to attain enlightenment. To the practitioner, the mandala represents the activities and teachings of the particular deity represented in the mandala, and can be described as the residences of the respective deities and their retinues.
